From the 1st of September 2018, the cost of CSCS skills cards is set to rise.
A 20% increase in the price of all cards administered directly by the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) is set to come in towards the end of the year. Since 2010 the price of the skills cards has been £30 but from the 1st of September, the price will increase to £36. CEO Graham Wren has said that the increase is due to “inflationary pressure”.
As of the 18th of June this year the price of the Construction Industry Training Board’s (CITB) Health, safety and environment test increased from £19.50 to £21. This test is a key requirement to obtaining the CSCS cards. The CITB stated that “This increase allows CITB to continue to reinvest in a product that meets the expanding health and safety requirements of construction, as well as keep up to date with developments in how best to assess the application of knowledge.”
