Plans to build London’s third tallest building have been given the green light by the planning committee.
Approval from the City of London’s planning committee has been given for the 263 meter-tall building. Hong Kong real estate company Lai Sun will develop the future commercial landmark at 100 Leadenhall Street. The building has already been nicknamed the ‘Cheesegrater 2’ due to its similarity to the Cheesegrater building already located at 122 Leadenhall Street, only meters away.
The impressive building will include a public viewing gallery on the top two floors giving a spectacular view of London’s financial district. 6,300 workers are needed to erect the building according to current plans. The Cheesegrater 2 was designed by well known and award winning architects Owings & Merrill and Skidmore.
